After listening to and analyzing the excerpts, I learned a few things. One thing was that maids got tested by their bosses. I think it is very helpful to see if a maid is honest or not by leaving money out and not watching her. I also learned that women were very underestimated and any heavy lifting would have to left to the men. They were not respected and did not have the same rights that men had. Lastly, black men did not have the quality of jobs white men had. They worked on the streets as vendors or in smiths, and women were maids and servants.
